Beyond Business Award

Description

Awarded to the hair salon, barbershop, nail spa or beauty salon where effort goes beyond business expectation, which does way more than competitors and is at the hub of the community. We simply need to hear what makes this creative hub so special. Perhaps the team raises funds or awareness of a wellbeing cause, or has created an initiative to support a specific activity to benefit the local community. If so – let us know!

To enter, explain (up to 500 words) how your operation goes ‘Beyond Business’. Your nomination must be backed up by testimonials from three different clients (we need their contact details too) outlining why the salon is a contender. Judges will be looking for ways in which the business is fundamental to the local community, what it does to make it a cornerstone of reliable kind support, some evidence of excellent, consistent, quality service. Supportive media coverage and photographic material more than welcome.

More Than... Award

Description

How often do we hear industry professionals say: “Oh, I’m just a hairdresser/ barber/ beautician/ nail tech…” etc. Well you know what? You’re not ‘just’ that. You are much ‘more than’ that. Our industry is filled with heroic, creative and sensitive souls who, day after day, give outstanding service, make people look great and feel even better and provide a hub within the community – let alone fuel the economy. Making people look great improves morale and oh so often, your attuned listening ears provide much needed compassionate support when clients, in the security of your care, feel safe to unload their emotional woes.

You are way ‘more than’ the majority of the world’s professionals and deserve to be recognised. To enter, tell us about yourself 500 words, submitting three testimonials from clients who know you to be ‘more than’. We need their contact details too and photographic evidence of you with them would be great. Judges will be looking for exceptional skills, someone not only brilliant at their job but someone who always makes the whole experience amazing, giving instances or happenings which make them ‘more than’. (Open to freelancers.)

Against the Odds Award (Nominated)

Description

Do you know a star in the making, a young person in the early stages of their job and determined to make a success of their career, albeit against the odds? This award is open to individuals aged up to 21, currently undertaking training, an apprenticeship or working part-time in a salon, barbershop or beauty studio. We want to hear about the special individual who, in the face of adversity, challenges or difficulties, has the resolve, grit and fortitude to give 100 percent to their job in order to succeed.

This award is by nomination only. If you have a team member, student or colleague who you think has faced exceptional challenges, yet still manages to be outstanding, we want to hear about them. Simply tell us (up to 500 words) why this person fits the brief. Maybe they’re a carer for someone outside the salon, yet still manage to give 100 percent commitment to their job; perhaps they’ve battled an illness themselves, had a difficult upbringing, travel an exceptional distance and make personal sacrifices to get to work or college? To support your entry, you can include up to two testimonials from clients, team members or tutors.

My Saviour Award (Nominated)

Description

External third parties (i.e. a client or a colleague) who regard this person as their true saviour nominate candidates for this award. Perhaps this special person intervened and helped the nominator through a significant or difficult period of their life, gave great support, maybe even saved their life. The My Saviour Award will go to someone who has done way more than expected, who gave ongoing care, compassion and kindness at a time when it was most needed. We want to hear about individuals who are genuine saviours and deserve to be recognised. To enter, nominees need to explain in (up to 500 words) why this person is ‘My Saviour’, what they have done to deserve such an accolade. Photographic evidence of nominee and saviour welcome.
